Pagoo
unveils technology that allows unique Phone to PC services
Pagoo™,
the first real Internet phone
company, today announced the unveiling of Pagoo Trident, its
breakthrough open standard Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP)
architecture. This proprietary, patent-pending technology serves as the
cornerstone of Pagoo's Internet Phone Number, enabling unique
Phone-to-PC calling, in addition to PC-to-PC, PC- to-Phone, call
forwarding, and other advanced VoIP capabilities.
"With
the introduction of Pagoo Trident, Pagoo takes the lead in designing
VoIP architecture," said Sylvain Dufour, co-founder and CTO of
Pagoo. "Pagoo Trident's sophisticated intelligence gives customers,
for the first time, a full suite of services, including making and
receiving calls over the Internet, with the highest quality sound.
Customers finally have a real phone number that can be called from any
regular phone, and with Pagoo's technology, they can answer the call
over the Internet and talk live."

Running
on top of Cisco's industry-leading voice gateways and built with
Microsoft components, Pagoo Trident is an open standard VoIP
architecture. Pagoo is a Cisco Powered Network, and its Internet phone
service, built around the Pagoo Trident architecture, is interoperable
with the NetCentrex platform and compatible with other Cisco-based VoIP
networks. The Pagoo Trident architecture, named for the convergence of
three distinct technology components, unifies the activities of an IP
gatekeeper and VoIP network, that carry voice traffic and signaling
information, the Pagoo Phone software, where customers manage their
communications, and the Web, where customers set their calling
preferences and select their service features.
To
allow a customer to receive a Phone-to-PC call, for example, Pagoo
Trident first receives information about the incoming call from Pagoo's
technology partner, NetCentrex. NetCentrex provides a 100 percent IP
Telephony platform, including a Call Control server, application server
and IPVR. This call signaling information includes who is calling and
which Pagoo customer is being called. In milliseconds, Pagoo Trident
both checks the customer's calling preferences as set on the Web and
communicates with the customer's Pagoo Phone software. Depending on a
customer's preference, Pagoo Trident connects the call to the customer's
Pagoo Phone, sends the call to Pagoo voicemail, or forwards the call to
another phone number designated by the customer. Powerful and fully
scalable, the Pagoo Trident architecture can coordinate millions of
simultaneous calling events.
"We
developed Pagoo Trident to allow customers to take control of their
communications," said Patrice Khawam, co-founder and VP of
engineering at Pagoo. "This technology enables customers to manage,
in real-time, who can reach them and when, whether they are on or
offline, and delivers services instantaneously over the Internet. Pagoo
Trident is also designed for business partners, and can be quickly
integrated to enable them to offer voice over the Internet services to
their end users."
Pagoo
Trident's seamless integration with the Pagoo Phone software and the
Pagoo Web site allows carrier organizations to quickly deploy end
-to-end solutions to their customers, enabling consumers to powerfully
manage calling preferences in real-time. For example, customers need
only point and click to set Pagoo's call forwarding feature to direct
their calls to another phone number. The Pagoo Internet Phone Number
adds simplicity and ease to people's lives while empowering them to make
communication choices, rather than have them dictated by the phone
company.
"Pagoo's
technology is truly the mission critical, 'missing link' of VoIP
technology," added Dufour. "Pagoo Trident combines the
functionality of the phone with the power of the Internet to enable not
only traditional phone company services, but also provide enhanced
capabilities and convenience that you can't find with any other
provider- Internet or old-fashioned telephone company."
"We
are very pleased to work with Pagoo to enable its new Phone-to-PC
Internet phone service," said Alistair Woodman, Director of
Marketing, Packet Telephony Division at Cisco. "By taking full
advantage of Cisco's Open Packet Telephony architecture, Pagoo is
harnessing the power of voice-over-IP to offer high-quality, enhanced
services to consumers."
With
the development of Pagoo Trident and the establishment of relationships
with Cisco and NetCentrex, Dufour indicates that the Pagoo Internet
Phone Number is only the beginning. Further products and services will
be built on this initial service, benefiting both the company's
customers and business partners alike.
