Why
in the world are you still paying for Internet Dial-up?
With
more and more free dial-up services becoming available, it
is almost pointless to pay a dial-up provider. There are hundreds
of free ISP’s out there. However, there are still millions of
people paying $10-$20 a month for 56k dial-up access. The reason for
this might be either they don’t know what’s out there, or they’re
not sure on how to go about picking and using a free dial-up provider.
We've
tried out three Internet dial-ups to help you find one or two whose traits
you can live with. The services vary in terms of the size of the
banner bars.
Like
their fee-based cousins, most free dial-ups start you off at portals sites
whose offerings typically include e-mail, voicemail, calendar, chat
services and the traditional news services. Most also offer local
numbers.
Free
Does Have a Cost
If
free appeals to you, take these free dial-up providers out for a spin. At the end
of 30-days, once you're completely satisfied, cancel your paid dial-up
provider. Then, with the money you've saved, treat yourself to
something real nice, like that big 19" monitor you've been
eyeballing.
